Day 1 – Surgery (total hip replacement). I got up the same day and walked to the bathroom on my own. I left the next day before I had been in hospital for 24 hours. I had no medication that night and didn’t need any nursing support. Physiotherapy was important to learn how to walk with crutches, positions, sleep… but 15 minutes.
Day 2 – I got undressed, showered and dressed myself. I left the hospital and walked about 400 meters to my car. I had dinner out that night.
Day 3 – I walked with the support of crutches, some edema, pain controlled with medication. I started having sex and adapted my position. Had dinner out.
Day 4 – I rested. Ice (usual). Went to the beach terrace. Had dinner out.
Day 5 – I drove without any difficulty. Went to the beach. Supported by 2 crutches. I got wet up to my waist.
Day 6 – Physiotherapy (not very useful). Progressive improvement in discomfort, edema and limitation.
Day 7 – I can walk alone, slowly, without crutches. No pain. Significant reduction in edema. Day at the beach. I walk easily with the support of crutches.
I didn’t need a toilet seat reducer. No one ever put shoes on me, but it’s summer, just flip-flops. Tomorrow will be 8 days.
Thank you, hugs.
